Hey everyone, hope this Journal finds you all doing well. I read an article a long time ago that said something along the lines of 'If you announce your intentions, you're more likely to follow through with them'.

That being said, I've had an idea in my head for years that I've contemplated following up on. I think now is a good time to pull the trigger on it and take my shot.

It won't be right away, and you probably won't see much from me for another few months in terms of content. I'm aware that the material I'd like to produce won't be perfect and it won't be of interest to everyone, but I've used those fears as excuses to delay my ideas for far too long. I can't be afraid anymore.

In the meantime, I greatly appreciate your patience and I'll try my best to stay in touch with you all on here or any other social platforms that we share.

Sincerely,
TB22

What the hell is up with this new layout? My mobile experience is all screwed up now. I swear sometimes this place makes me want to go hang out at that disgusting shit-hole over at FurAffinity.

Been well over a year since I've posted a Journal here, but I had a recent conversation with an old artist friend of mine. Just wanted to share a few words because I know how shitty it can be to be in this spot.

I recently started my engineering career by being offered a Firmware Engineer position about a month ago now. The company I work for is massive, and I thought I stood no chance of being hired by them. I applied for the position about 8 months ago and thought they'd moved on from me for the longest time. In the meantime, I had 2 interested companies that made it up to the 2nd interview and didn't materialize, and I turned down 2 job offers from staffing agencies that would have paid shit and required me to sign a contract of anywhere from 6 months to 2 years. It took me almost a full year of constant applications, trials, errors, and tribulation after graduation to get my first job.

What I'd like to say to you all is...

Stay confident. Keep posting your resume and get your name out there. Apply for the blue chip companies that you think are at the top of your field and out of your reach. If the pay and benefits suck, tell them to find someone else. You can apply to 1,000 companies that tell you no, but all you need is for 1 of them to say yes for you to succeed. Something good is waiting for you out there. You deserve it, so put in the hard work to go and get it.

Sincerely,
TennisBall22

Hey everyone. I'm not dead. Here's a super brief rundown of things for anyone interested.

I've been good, working a lot and trying to hit the gym and lose some weight. I'm about 15 lbs down from my heaviest weight, although I've kinda fallen off the wagon over the last week. I still have a very long way to go before I'll be happy with myself again.

I really want to try punching out a couple of sketches here and there. I've had a real itch to start sketching stuff up and maybe making a couple of drawings out of them. I just realized that it's been over a year since I posted any artwork on this site. I guess I just sorta lost the time and the motivation to draw. Life got in the way of things and I never became confident in my 'skills' as an artist.

Also, I think it's kind of ironic that as soon as got the inspiration to draw something for the first time in months, my tablet driver craps out on my computer. I'm gonna try putting SAI and my tablet onto my laptop that I usually reserve for schoolwork and important stuff until I can figure out what's going on with the driver on my PC.

Speaking of schoolwork, I have 1 class left to take before I can graduate. After which I'll have a BS in Computer Engineering from the University of Wisconsin - Milwaukee. I have yet to secure an internship, although I did have 2 interviews a couple months ago. Just gotta keep putting them out there I guess.

On a final note, I haven't been ignoring everyone's artwork. I've been keeping up with it when I have time, and I'm seeing improvement from a lot of you. Hope everyone keeps up the good work and keeps perfecting their craft :)

Feel free to hit up a conversation and let me know how you're doing :aww:
